Varsity Baseball handed Oakton their first loss of the season. Top ranked and previously unbeaten Oakton was taken down 5-0. Junior Forest Wagner was the star of the game, delivering an amazing performance to lead the chargers to their victory.

“We played great as a team and we were allowed all 7 innings so that’s what made the difference.” Wagner said.

Coach Kevin Ford knew Wagner matched up well against the Cougars.

Wagner never pitched much this season due to a sore arm, but the junior said he was able to remain in shape with separate training sessions.

Four Oakton errors eventually had paved the way for Chantilly’s five runs.

“Everyone had to rally behind and pull through so It was a team effort and Forest did a great job on the mound,” junior Jared DiCesare said. “The whole experience was really fun.”

It was a significant victory, but there are still tough games against familiar rivals left on Chantilly’s schedule.
