Contrary to what the classic Green Day hit song suggests, students won’t want to sleep through September as homecoming week begins to take center stage. For the week of homecoming, leadership will hold spirit days to build up enthusiasm, with All Knighter PJ Day on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
In celebration of the upcoming game, the annual homecoming parade will roll through the Greenbriar neighborhood on Friday, Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m. Also that evening from 4 to 7 p.m.,students and their families are invited to visit stands set up by different clubs outside CHS during the Taste of Chantilly event. Attendees should keep in mind that all food and items merchandised by clubs will cost payment only acceptable in cash.
The final event of the night will be the homecoming game against McLean High School, which will begin on the football field at 7 p.m. Students will need to bring a form of student-ID to be allowed access into the game. Concessions will also be available for purchase throughout the game.
To cap off the week, the homecoming dance will take place on Sept. 14 and begin at 7:30 p.m. in the gym. Those who plan on bringing friends from different high schools will need to obtain a form from administrators and get it signed and returned. Students can buy tickets for the dance for $20 from Monday, Sept. 9 to Friday, Sept. 13 or for $40 at the door. Although the dress code is semi-formal, studentsmay want to watch out for the chance of rainy weather that night when deciding what to wear.
