For those seeking a holiday indulgence, these large pretzels deliver a different flavor in every bite. They’re covered in peanut butter and chocolate, with cookie crumbs sticking to the coating. On top, there are M&Ms scattered over the surface, adding some extra crunch. Priced at $3.99, these pretzels bring a real “jingle jangle” of flavors and textures. The peanut butter flavor is strong, which takes the spotlight over the chocolate and candy coating.

Texture-wise, Trader Joe’s nailed it. The crunch of the pretzel contrasts nicely with the smooth chocolate coating, creating a satisfying bite. It is a solid mix of sweet and savory flavors. Overall, the pretzels earn a 6/10 because, despite their bold flavors and holiday spirit, they may be overwhelming for anyone looking for a more balanced taste profile.

Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s: 4/10

A seasonal favorite priced at $4.49, Candy Cane Joe Joe’s bring a festive twist to the classic chocolate sandwich cookie with peppermint-flavored filling and candy cane pieces. The packaging itself exudes a wintery, Christmas-like charm. According to Business Insider, these cookies are quite popular, as stock usually runs low in many stores.

For anyone familiar with Girl Scouts Thin Mints or mint Oreos, these cookies offer a similar experience. The peppermint is prominent, making for a refreshing, minty taste. For those who love bold, almost “toothpaste” intensity of peppermint, the Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s will be a hard hit. Although the flavor may not appeal to everyone, these cookies still deliver on their promise of a festive treat. Overall, they score a 4/10, an interesting twist on a holiday classic, but perhaps best suited for true peppermint enthusiasts.

Trader Joe’s Danish Butter Cookies: 9/10

Priced at $5.99, Danish Butter Cookies are undeniably popular, drawing plenty of attention in the aisles. Packaging in a charming, reusable cylindrical can, these cookies clearly have a fanbase, with shoppers eagerly snatching them up. During a recent trip, one shopper even gasped in excitement when finding these cookies and promptly grabbed four cans.

As for the cookies themselves, they live up to the hype. They are wonderfully buttery and sweet without being too overwhelming and they have a sprinkle of crystallized sugar on top, which adds both a touch of sparkle and slight crunch. The texture is light, flaky and satisfying, with each bite striking a delicate balance between richness and sweetness. Overall, the Danish Butter Cookies earn a well-deserved 9/10 for their classic taste, appealing texture and gift-ready presentation.

Scandinavian Tidings: 4/10

The chewy gummy candies, priced at $3.49 were soft and shaped like holiday ornaments, stars and trees. These candies offer a seasonal twist on the well-loved Scandinavian Swimmers. Opening the bag reveals a wonderful fruity aroma and the holiday-themed shapes are perfect for parties or gatherings. While the designs are cute and add a holiday feel, they fall short on delivering a distinct flavor that feels unique to the season.

Flavor-wise, the Scandinavian Tidings taste nearly identical to Scandinavian Swimmers. It feels like a missed opportunity to introduce a holiday-themed flavor, such as peppermint or spiced fruit, which could have set these gummies apart. While they work well as a fun party snack, they might not satisfy someone looking for a unique seasonal flavor. Overall, the Scandinavian Tidings receive a 4/10.

Trader Joe’s Cookie Mug Hangers: 9.5/10

At $2.99, each box contains approximately 12 gingerbread-shaped cookies that are designed to fit on the rim of a mug, making them an ideal companion for hot cocoa, tea or coffee. However, the sweet, spiced flavor of the cookies pair especially well with hot cocoa. Their gingerbread flavor is infused with warm spices and a hint of crystallized sugar on top, adding both texture and a touch of holiday sparkle.

These cookies don’t just look festive; they taste like the holidays, too, with a satisfying crunch and classic gingerbread spice that brings comforting, wintery vibes to a holiday function. They’re perfect for cozy nights spent watching holiday movies with friends and family. Scoring a high 9.5/10, these cookies are not only tasty, but offer a unique, seasonal way to elevate a simple cup of cocoa.

Peppermint Meringues: 7/10

Last but certainly not least, we have the Peppermint Meringues. Priced at $2.99, these meringues initially feel surprisingly light and airy, almost like they could dissolve in your hand. Despite their peppermint theme, the flavor is not as strong as anticipated. For anyone looking for a lighter, less intense peppermint treat, these meringues are a great choice. Overall, they score a 7/10, an enjoyable and surprising option.

Trader Joe’s winter snacks bring a delightful mix of flavors and festive charm at an affordable price. There are plenty of other seasonal items worth exploring, like advent calendars, peppermint pretzel slims, or chocolate-covered peppermint Joe Joe’s.
