Mockingjay Pt. 2
As the final installment of the popular movie series “The Hunger Games” premiered, movie fans lined up past the theater doors in attempt to get the best seats of the house. Due to the good reviews that the past movies of the sequel received, The premiere of “Mockingjay Pt. 2” has gained worldwide attention. However, even though the film dominated the weekend’s box office, the debut received the lowest earnings out of all 4 parts, coming in at $101 million. Junior Prachi Yadav had been anticipating the premiere of the finale and was quick to find tickets to Friday night’s showing.
“I surprisingly loved the movie because in the books, I felt as if the plot dragged on, but the movie brought the action to life,” Yadav said.
Contrary to the box office results, Yadav applauded the film and even said that it was her favorite out of all four installments. In addition, a highly anticipated part of the film is the Team Gale or Team Peeta controversy.
“I am team Gale,” Yadav said. “I feel like since Katniss grew up and has known him for such a long time, that they should have ended up together.”
To get on board with the trend, The Purple Tide has reached their consensus on whether if they are Team Peeta or Team Gale. Most people were Team Gale, but there were a number of Team Peeta fans. As the popular series wraps up, keep a lookout for other upcoming movie sequels such as “Incredibles 2” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
