With the clock hitting zero, the varsity football team has seen ups and downs, coming into the last game of the regular season with a record of 5-4 and a district record of 2-2. Winning 42-0 over Falls Church High School but losing 49-7 to Centreville High School, they’ve lost close games to district opponents but also upset opponents in close games. The Homecoming game against South Lakes High School was close throughout. In the end however, South Lakes won 23-17. They lost to James Madison High School 34-7 during the final game of the regular season on Nov. 4.
Senior quarterback Ethan Ross runs onto the field to the team huddle. Ross communicates with the coaches to call the play they will run. Ross then communicated to the offense the play the coaches called. Members of the team are required to memorize the playbook so the games can run as smoothly as possible.
