Live, learn and look: classroom decorations foster welcoming learning environment, individuality

Taking a look into a foreign language, English or elective classroom, colorful posters, flags and murals provide a spark of personality to what can be an otherwise dull environment. Many teachers choose to decorate their classrooms despite a lack of funding for this purpose since simple decorations serve as teaching references, showcase students’ work and reinforce an engaging and welcoming environment, according to Engage Education.

“I think it’s interesting when teachers decorate because I can get to know more about my teachers and some of the things they like,” junior Nidhi Padakanti said. “However, I do understand that some teachers do not want to have to invest that much money into decorations.”
