Pickle ball picks up pace

Clack! The CHS pickleball club continues their second season after ending with a 4-2 record in the regular season. The team made it to the semi-finals in the playoffs before being eliminated 5-0 by McLean. They will next compete for third place in the state on Dec. 6 against Oakton or Herndon.

Each pickleball point begins with a serve. “I like to do a lot of different kinds of serves, like I like to do one where I put a lot of topspin on it,” Gilbert said. “It’s a benefit to have multiple kinds of serves because it makes it harder for the opponents to predict you.”

Henna designing was one of the activities for guests, and art students were able to sign up for different activities they could do during the art show. “One of my favorite activities was Henna because it's a really cool craft and art form that is interesting,” Colburn said. 
Pyramid art show expresses creativity of students

Ian Green is a junior at Chantilly High School beginning his first year at The Purple Tide. He is trying journalism due to the availability of an open elective in the 2025-26 school year. He has an affinity for writing and jumps at any opportunity to better himself in that skill. Aside from writing, he loves playing basketball, having been on the team for the past two years. He’s also an avid guitarist, playing whenever he has free time. He is looking forward to his first year at The Purple Tide, and learning more about the journalistic side of writing.
