The sound of victory echoes across the court. This season could be one of the most successful for the varsity volleyball team, with a record of nine wins in the season as of Oct. 5. The team has won 3-0 against Washington-Liberty, Hayfield, McLean, West Springfield, Centreville and Westfield. They had closer games with a 3-1 against Yorktown and South Lakes, and a 3-2 against James Madison. Their winning streak came to an end when they lost to Oakton, 3-2. The team is currently ranked number 2 in their district as of Oct. 5.
Varsity volleyball sets for success
The varsity volleyball team huddles up before a game against the Madison Seahawks. Varsity volleyball holds a very strong team bond. The team achieves unity by developing chemistry by lots of communication and cooperation. "I love the season so far because our team is super close, and I'm very confident for a good outcome at states," junior outside hitter Mimi Mambu said.
