At times, Fairfax County has had difficulty keeping up with the Purple Can Club glass containers. According to Director of Engineering and Environmental Compliance for Fairfax County Eric Forbes, worker shortages due to the pandemic are part of the problem. However, Forbes notes that Fairfax County has bought cameras for the inside of the purple glass to monitor the can’s capacity and hopefully prevent future situations where the can is too full.
